Auto Manufacturer Links Up with GPS Tracking
Another Auto Manufacturer has built-in GPS Capabilities
Safety, Security the Best Reasons to Have These Devices
A manufacturer of automobiles, Jaguar, has secured a deal with Trafficmaster to become their stolen vehicle tracking system and partner. The system is called Trackstar and will replace the existing system that Jaguar uses at present.
The perfect marriage of technology comes in the form of GPS Tracking systems and vehicles to which they are outfitted. These systems allow for tracking of vehicles from anywhere and the location of the same should they become stolen.
What Does This New Alliance Mean?
A better system. The best systems use multiple methods of tracking to help ensure that there are failover options. This system uses not only satellite based GPS systems, but also land-based GSM signals. Each work in concert to maintain constant contact with the system.
Better monitoring. Trafficmaster has a monitoring base and operations center of excellence. This centralized system provides the best response and turn-around times available in the case of a vehicle theft.
Better responsiveness. Being a singularly focused system means that the top priority is to insure monitoring that reacts with precision and quickness. Often, the first few hours of a theft of a vehicle are the most critical in being able to help authorities locate and recover it quickly before serious damage is done.
Having a centralized system allows sharing of information and the use and dissemination of that data as needed in individual cases. A partnership between Trafficmaster and police agencies help solve the worst cases and allow closer scrutiny of vehicle theft operations.
An additional goal is to provide enhanced driving experiences through intelligent vehicle services thereby improving business performance for fleet operations. This helps these companies save time and money while at the same time, reducing environmental impact.
The Future for GPS Tracking
How long will it be before we see GPS Tracking devices added as a standard feature on all vehicles from the manufacturer? Probably not long because of the benefits that are offered from having these systems onboard. Another industry pushing this idea is the insurance industry. They lower their risk greatly when GPS Tracking systems are used.
More people, businesses and government organizations are implementing GPS Tracking as standard operating procedure on all of their outside, moveable assets. It makes sense on so many levels in helping to keep close watch while lowering costs and expenses associated with ownership of these types of assets. We will be seeing more and more of them in the days to come.
