GPS Tracking to the Top of the World

Taking Technology Along

The Best Uses of GPS Tracking

Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world at 29,035 feet high.  A teenager, 13 year-old Jordan Romero, trekked to the peak and proceeded to call his mother from a satellite based phone to tell her the wonderful news: “mom, I’m calling you from the top of the world.â€

The mother, of course, was happy – especially that he had made it safely.  The way she knew this was from his call, but also she tracked his progress via a GPS tracking system.

Using technology like this isn’t anything new.  Rather, it reinforces the reasons that it is being used and the benefits that accrue to those who take advantage of it in many ways.

Track Almost Anything from Anywhere

Business. Almost any business that has assets that are movable or out-of-doors is prime for GPS tracking.  The more expensive these assets, the better the benefits.  There’s nothing like being able to actively monitor a fleet of vehicles or other objects to help insure accuracy in deliveries to end customers.  But the best thing about these devices is that they can help recover stolen items quickly and have them back in service within hours, not days, weeks, months, or maybe never.

Judicial. No one doubts the benefits of ankle monitoring of those convicted of crimes.  It helps save money by eliminating unnecessary incarceration.  It allows those convicted to remain positive contributors to their families and society.  It helps keep them from repeating their offenses.  Then, there is the way that GPS Tracking is being used to augment traditional evidence gathering activities thereby insuring successful cases against the accused.

Personal. More families are turning to GPS Tracking to monitor the use and location of their own vehicles.  Those with teenage drivers understand the need to ‘watch’ their kids and how they drive.  These units provide that kind of data so that there is an accountability that cannot be argued against.  It’s helping families teach their children about responsibility.

GPS Tracking will continue to make a positive mark on society for years to come because of these benefits.  Oh, by the way; Jordan Romero has a lofty goal: climb the highest peaks on all seven continents.  This is a feat that he will accomplish with his ever-ready companion, the GPS tracking device, at his side.
