A Brief History of LandAirSea

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Long before satellite surveillance reached its present level of high-tech intensity, researchers looked to the stars for solutions to navigational puzzles.

With the U.S. Government’s completion of the constellation of 24 satellites known as the Global Positioning System, or GPS, signals could be transmitted globally around the clock with second by second precision and accuracy.  GPS thus began as a project designed for the U.S. military to track aircraft and ground vehicles and locate casualties.

Since GPS became available to the civilian population in the early 1980s, competition for this market has been escalating.  Manufacturers across the country seem to be cranking out GPS related products with marathon momentum.  With products ranging from simple hand held gadgets to larger, more complex systems, this comparatively new technology has hopped aboard boats, planes, cars, construction equipment and farm machinery and has even found its way into mobile phones and wristwatches.

One of the first to recognize the potential for advancement in this last frontier was a fledgling enterprise called LandAirSea Systems, Inc.  Born in 1994 of a realization that GPS technology would someday redefine mobility, LandAirSea is now an industry leader that provides effective tracking devices and systems for a diversified range of consumers.
