The Best Uses of GPS Tracking

Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world at 29,035 feet high.  A teenager, 13 year-old Jordan Romero, trekked to the peak and proceeded to call his mother from a satellite based phone to tell her the wonderful news: “mom, I’m calling you from the top of the world.”

The mother, of course, was happy – especially that he had made it safely.  The way she knew this was from his call, but also she tracked his progress via a GPS tracking system. (more…)

The “Political GPS” app created by Thomas Huntington was invented to track members of Congress. The idea is to provide iPhone users with knowledge as to how members of Congress vote on a regular basis. GPS Tracking Impacts Farming

When GPS Tracking emerged in the mid-90s onto farms, the application was limited:  yield mapping for crops.  Now about 15 years later, this technology has made significant in-roads into the way crops are planted which enhances crop yields even further.

To wit, implement manufacturers are now including the wiring and mounting spaces for GPS devices that are built specifically to hold these units.  Also, these units are performing important functions in the planting process that adds specificity heretofore not enjoyed by the farming community.
