With our 3100-EXT, there are more installation options available; an external antenna allows you to hide the 3100 unit in areas where GPS reception is limited. And the compact design of the LAS 3100-EXT makes this device easy to place anywhere in a vehicle. Only a one-time installation of the external antenna is necessary. Afterward, when retrieving the device, simply disconnect the antenna.

The device can acquire signals through plastic, cloth and fiberglass, can be placed in the glove box, under the seat or in the dashboard. It can also receive reflective signals when placed under the vehicle. However, the GPS cannot receive signal when surrounded by metal, so the trunk is not typically a preferred location for installation.
